Newbury, UK, 25th May 2007: Leading converged business voice and data company Azzurri Communications today announced a contract with the UK’s largest trade union, UNISON. As part of UNISON’s infrastructure development, a new, improved wide area network (WAN) will see Azzurri connecting UNISON’s 33 offices nationwide, giving improved access to the organisation’s network. The introduction of an IP telephony system will also give UNISON one single telephony platform, realising cost savings and increasing network resilience.
As a trusted partner, Azzurri will manage the migration to the new infrastructure as well as the solution moving forward. Azzurri will work with UNISON to design a bespoke WAN suited to its specific needs, managing the design, project management and implementation.
Azzurri will replace the existing office telephone systems with an Avaya Communications Manager telephony platform, improving the reliability, resilience and availability of UNISON’s phone system. UNISON’s regional offices will also benefit from the enhanced administration and management tools the new solution will provide.
