Hull, 26th October 2006 - Businesses and public sector organisations in and around Hull are for the first time going to be offered an alternative to the broadband services offered by Kingston Communications with the launch of a wireless broadband service from Azzurri Communications.
The new service, Azzurri Broadband, will bring competitively priced wireless Internet access to the city of Hull, allowing local businesses to take full advantage of technologies including VoIP. Businesses will also be able to better support remote working and improve their own customer service through improved web hosting and business continuity.
"It's fantastic that Hull businesses will now be able to exploit this state of the art wireless technology that is already available in London and Oxford," said Steve Cowley, divisional director, Azzurri Communications. "We are committed to the continuing regeneration of Hull and this is a natural extension to our investment programme. "
Azzurri announced a one million pound investment programme in August 2005 including research and development for its education division and a recruitment campaign for technical consultants.
Cowley continues: "We responded to the demand from our existing customers and deployed our own wireless local loop in Hull to provide an alternative to the incumbent infrastructure. Businesses, schools and government organisations who are currently connected to Kingston Communications' network will now be able to benefit from our high availability bandwidth service and, in many cases, more competitive pricing."
Customer relationships will be managed from Azzurri Communications' local engineering office in the city, and will include dedicated technical and client account management.
