Red-M takes centre stage at In-Building Solutions 2006

Chief Technology Officer, Simon Saunders, plays major part at 10th European Summit

Red-M, the leading provider of services and products for designing, deploying and managing in-building wireless infrastructure, will have a significant presence at this year's In-building Solutions show at the Hilton Vienna, Austria on 22 - 25 May 2006.

Red-M's Chief Technology Officer, Simon Saunders, will be speaking on 23rd May on the subject of 'Navigating the expanding range of in-building architectural options'. The presentation will take a detailed look at the expanding choices for in-building infrastructure, from access-point style base stations for domestic use through to distributed base stations operating across IP networks. It will address the need to achieve ROI on even the smallest wireless projects through scalable design, implementation and management. He will also be covering the new operators, air interfaces and frequency bands now available and the fit-for-purpose design tools and processes on the market.

Simon will also be chairing day two of the conference and will head up a panel of experts discussing wireless technologies during the event.

Simon will also be speaking on 25th May on the subject of ' Determining How The Auction Of 'New' Spectrum In The UK May Impact Competition In The Market For Dedicated In-Building Services'. This will address the outcomes of the recent UK spectrum auction which enables eleven new operators (and one existing) operating low-power GSM systems in just fifteen channels. Simon will discuss the associated spectrum management challenges and possible approaches to overcoming these.

Simon has authored more than 100 papers on the subject of wireless technologies, including the book Antennas and Propagation for Wireless Communication Systems. He has also invented some 15 patents for wireless innovations and has worked for leading mobile companies such as Philips, Ascom and Motorola.

Red-M provides software products and services for the wireless market and designs, implements and manages wireless networks across the spectrum of commercially used radio frequencies for blue chip clients. The company was formed in April 2005 by the merger of Cellular Design Services (CDS), a wireless consulting services provider, and Red-M Communications, a vendor of wireless security probes and monitoring software.

The company has implemented wireless systems in more than 300 buildings throughout the UK, including the busiest airport (Heathrow) and the highest building (Canary Wharf), as well as shopping malls, manufacturing facilities and stadia.
