11 August 2005 - Zen Internet, a leading UK ISP (Internet Service Provider), is working with Introspect IT Solutions Ltd, to provide the communications links for the V Festival at Weston Park, Stafford, on 20-21 August. To replace last year's satellite links, Zen will provide the production company organising the festival with a broadband connection. Introspect IT will implement a VPN (Virtual Private Network) for the organisers, and will oversee the project.
The festival organisers, Roseclaim Ltd, will be provided with e-mail, and file access to its office based network. Last year, the production company ran its onsite communications via a satellite link, which proved unworkable in such an environment. The ensuing communications problems led them to look for an alternative solution this year.
Mike Dixon, technical director at Manchester-based Introspect IT Solutions, a Gold ZenPartner, explained: "We have chosen Zen to provide a broadband solution because of its excellent service and reliability. Last year, there was no active broadband exchange in the area, but coincidentally the BT exchange has just become ADSL active. The time span for the project only runs the week before to the week after the festival, so we needed a provider that would be ready to go when they got the green light. Zen was a perfect fit."
Zen is providing four ADSL lines. One is for the production team to enable them to run the event smoothly, with communications links back to their Manchester office, enabling them to access all their event data as easily as if they were in the office. The remaining lines are for Internet access for the bands and road crew to access their e-mail. Introspect IT Solutions is setting up the wireless networks to enable this access.
Zen was able to meet the requirements for this time-sensitive project by providing a one-month contract for ZenADSL Office 2000 for the promoter's office, site office, 'general' and touring office. ZenADSL Office 2000 is Zen's top of the range broadband service for business that fills the gap between megastream leased lines and dial-up connections, and has a 2Mbps download speed.
Iain Johnstone, Sales and Partner Programme Manager, Zen Internet, said: "We have worked with Introspect many times on big events such as these. They choose to work with us not only because of the short contract we can provide but also because of our vital service provision. At a previous event, the organiser was let down by another provider, and we stepped in and provided what they needed in two to three days. There is no margin for error at events like these, so an immediate response is vital, and we take great pride in our ability to offer this level of service."
About Introspect IT Solutions Ltd:
In 2001 Steve Holland and Mike Dixon created Introspect I.T. Solutions Ltd. They decided to implement their intensive experience (over 16 years) in the fields of CAD 3D Visualisation and Information Technology, working for the UK's largest AutoDesk reseller, by combining their knowledge and expertise and offering it to a select group of growing businesses. Dealing mainly with blue-chip clients they saw that the small business was being left behind in the quality of I.T. service provision as most of the real expertise was being focused on the larger organisations. Introspect are now one of those small businesses and understands how information systems can be utilised best within this market.
