Azzurri picks up Best Management Team award at Sunday Times Tech Track 100 Dinner
Azzurri Communications is celebrating after being awarded the Best Management Team honour at The Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 awards dinner, held at the Saatchi Gallery in London last night.

Azzurri attended the invitation only event after being placed 42nd in the annual Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 league table in October. The judges were particularly impressed with Azzurri’s buy-and-build strategy which has seen it acquire 11 IT and telecommunications companies and successfully integrated them into a single thriving company. The management team and chief executive officer, Martin St Quinton, have built the company from £13m in sales in 2001 to £47m in 2003 through these acquisitions.

The Sunday Times Tech Track 100 ranked companies based on sales growth between financial year end 2001 and 2003. All entrants were required to be non-subsidiary, independent technology companies, registered in the UK and unquoted. Sales in 2001 had to exceed £100,000 and at least £1m in 2003.

Commenting on this latest award, chief executive officer at Azzurri, Martin St. Quinton said, “As an entrepreneur running a buy and build business, I need to know that I have the management backing and support that will enable us to continue to achieve growth in line with our aggressive plans. Completing eleven acquisitions in four years is just one metric to prove how conscientious my team is and the level of management expertise we have at Azzurri has helped the company achieve its success to date.”

Azzurri were presented the award by Andrew Bell, UK technology industry leader at PricewaterhouseCoopers and beat strong competition. Other awards presented on the night were; Best Use Of Technology, International Expansion, Innovation, Research And Development, and Fastest Growing Company.

The Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 is compiled by Fast Track and published in The Sunday Times each October, with an awards event in December and targeted activities throughout the year.
