ABSOLUTE SOFTWARE REPORTS DATA SECURITY THREATENED BY EMPLOYEE NEGLIEGENCE

> Survey shows 48% of UK companies at risk

Newbury, 11 January 2008:  Following recent controversy over data security in the public sector, a new survey has revealed that commercial organisations face the same potential dangers because many of their employees do not follow corporate policies on data and computer security.  Commercial organisations should not assume that they are immune from the exposures and damage such as those suffered by the HMRC and NHS following recent data thefts:

48% of companies surveyed were found at risk

58% of companies surveyed report laptop thefts

80% of businesses still only using traditional asset management tools to protect laptops

Published by Absolute® Software, the leader in computer theft recovery, data protection and secure asset tracking solutions™, the survey was conducted by technology market research specialist Vanson Bourne and encompassed 100 companies spanning many industries from financial services to manufacturing to retail.  The companies ranged in size from 1,000 to over 3,000 employees.

Nearly half of those polled (48 per cent) said data was threatened by employee negligence.  Of those suffering security breaches, 43 per cent estimated costs to the business to be between £10,000 and £100,000, while 14 per cent said it had cost them over half a million pounds.

The security of data on laptop computers is most at risk, especially for the 58 per cent of companies that reported laptop thefts in the past 12 months.  Surprisingly 80 per cent of businesses still only use traditional asset management tools to protect their machines, which are generally ineffective at protecting data once the asset itself is lost or stolen.

William Pound, senior director, international operations, Absolute Software, said: “In today’s increasingly mobile world, it’s not surprising that we hear about data losses and security breaches in the media day in and day out. While it is impossible to stop such losses, it is possible to significantly reduce the damage they cause by implementing security solutions that enable companies to take action once these events occur. Absolute’s theft recovery and data delete solutions are designed to do just that and have helped thousands of customers eliminate this threat.

“Arguably, with 80 per cent of businesses not taking steps to address this problem, there is still a lack of appreciation of the value of data held on laptops.  Companies need to take a layered approach to security, to protect all valuables at all levels to lessen the potential impact on the bottom line.  The many recent stories of data loss from stolen/misplaced laptops highlights the continuing potential dangers.”

Pound continued: “Laptops often contain secure or personal data and intellectual property.  These items have their own value and should be protected as such.  A stolen laptop could contain data on your staff, suppliers, potential customers and others.  If this data falls into the wrong hands it can be devastating to your business.

It will be interesting to see how the Governments' plans to possibly criminalise repeated breaches in data security will affect this current attitude towards security.”

Absolute Software has developed a solution called Computrace®One™ which is pre-installed on a range of laptops from manufacturers including Dell, HP, Lenovo and Toshiba. ComputraceOne tracks and recovers lost or stolen computers and enables sensitive data to be remotely deleted.

Absolute Software's ComputraceOne Helps European Organisations Fight Computer Crime
Computer tracking and recovery software company showcases recent European customer successes

NEWBURY, UK - November 22, 2007 - Absolute Software Corporation (TSX:ABT) ("Absolute", or the "Company"), the leading provider of firmware-based, patented Computrace® Computer Theft Recovery, Data Protection and Secure Asset Tracking(tm) today announced several recent incidents where its European computer tracking service ComputraceOneTM recovered stolen computers and helped organisations fight computer crime.

Absolute's European product, ComputraceOne, uses the Internet to track and recover missing laptop computers. When a Computrace-equipped computer is reported stolen, the embedded Computrace agent sends a silent signal to Absolute's Monitoring Centre - providing critical location information. Absolute's Recovery Team then works with the law enforcement organisation that has jurisdiction over the matter, to recover the computer. With support installed in the BIOS(1) during manufacture by the world's leading computer manufacturers, the Computrace software agent can survive accidental or deliberate attempts at removal or disablement.

The experience of Wokingham-headquartered BRC Reinforcement Solutions is typical of Absolute customers:

To combat the possibility of computer theft, the 400-employee manufacturer purchased the ComputraceOne monitoring service to track its laptops. The company was relieved that they were protected when thieves made off with a computer during an overnight burglary. Soon after, the stolen computer called home to the Absolute Monitoring Centre to indicate its location. The Absolute Recovery Team then worked with local police to retrieve the laptop and have now charged two alleged thieves.

"I am always sceptical of new technology until it is proven - but I am now convinced that ComputraceOne works," said Adrian Marks, IT Systems Administrator at BRC Reinforcement "I was really impressed by the recovery process - I didn't have to chase Absolute Software at all. They informed me when the laptop started 'calling in'. Not long after, I had a call from the police telling me the laptop had been recovered. All we had to do was let Absolute know when one of our computers went missing."

Other recent examples of computer recoveries for Absolute's European customers include:

Independent Television News, UK - In two unrelated crimes, one laptop was stolen from a staff member's car and another was lost when one of the television network's employees experienced a home burglary. Both computers have been located and the details handed over to the police - resulting in charges being brought against the alleged thieves.

Ovre Eiker Kommune, Norway - Twelve laptops were stolen during an overnight burglary at the school. By working with local police, Absolute's Recovery team has retrieved all twelve computers and several alleged thieves are now facing charges.

Eiker Videregående Skole, Norway - When a laptop was stolen from a teacher's classroom in a brazen mid-day robbery, school officials were thankful that the computer was protected by ComputraceOne. Using location information transmitted from the laptop, local police recovered the laptop and apprehended the alleged thief who claimed they had innocently purchased it from "a guy in Drammen". He has been charged with handling stolen goods.

According to Bill Pound, Senior Director of International Operations, Absolute Software, "Organisations across Europe face slowed productivity, media scrutiny and increased costs when stolen computers and the information on them fall into the wrong hands. ComputraceOne combines the ability to track computers, recover those that go missing and remotely delete sensitive information. It also provides secure IT asset management for computers that are disconnected from company networks. As these customers can attest, ComputraceOne provides an easy-to deploy, cost-effective solution for combating issues surrounding lost or stolen computers. "

Radware's new AppXML Helps Customers Tackle Web Services and SOA Deployment Challenges
New Application Delivery Solution Extends Radware's Award Winning
APSolute to Provide Security and Performance Acceleration for Web
Services

Bracknell, UK; November 20th, 2007. Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR), the leading
provider of integrated application delivery solutions for business-smart
networking, today announced a new solution, AppXML, designed
specifically for helping customers tackle the challenges of deploying
web services and SOAs. An extension of Radware's award winning APSolute
solution, AppXML is a security and performance driven platform which
provides enterprises with the foundational infrastructure enabling
secure, high-performance XML and web services communications for mission
critical applications.

Although SOA and XML based-web services allow for enterprises to
dynamically integrate their business processes and IT systems using open
standards-based specifications, they leave enterprises open to increased
security risks and performance degradation. AppXML enables customers to
exchange secure web services between enterprise and business partners
and other interactive users whilst providing them with key features to
boost application capabilities. These include:

- Increased Performance Acceleration
o Transforms synchronous web services to an asynchronous (queue-based)
process for delayed batch-processing
o Offloads XML processing from servers and accelerates SSL transport for
web services
o Provides control on invocations per second to manage SLAs with
bandwidth management
o Offloads tasks from application servers to dedicated hardware

- Enhanced Security
o Protects from both non-deliberate and malicious attacks with
industry-leading authentication, authorisation and admission controls
o Secures web services and networks from external and internal threats
by validating XML structure, filtering malicious content, cloaking and
WSDL virtualisation
o Delivers further security of web services of denial-of-service attacks
and scalability to accommodate growing capacity requirements
o Ensures web service message integrity and privacy through schema
validation, SSL decryption, message encryption and signing

- Streamlined Deployment - Facilitated Manageability and Reporting
Capabilities
o Enables faster integration with web services with protocol-mixing of
XML and non-XML traffic, interoperability, XML processing and
transformation
o Speeds implementation with minimal disruption to application services
through strong WSDL policy management, proxy-based approach and
interoperability and redundancy support

Amir Peles, Radware's CTO explained, "With the addition of AppXML to
their IT infrastructure, financial services and e-commerce enterprises
as well as government institutions can benefit from better business
agility and IT flexibility. They will be able to react more quickly to
security risks, integrate more easily with their partners, reduce time
to market and benefit from secure e-business process integration."

AppXML is an appliance developed by the coupling of Radware's
award-winning APSolute application delivery platform and Forum Systems'
industry-leading XML Sentry software. Together, and less than one year
after the announcement of their partnership, Radware and Forum developed
a complete solution that enterprises can use to optimise and manage
their web-based activities.

"Radware is the only provider offering a unified load-balancing and web
services platform, reducing the costs of implementing and maintaining
SOA deployments," explained Mamoon Yunus, CTO for Forum Systems. "This
is a logical, strategic approach to enhancing security and increasing
performance of SOA implementation which provides a great return on
investment with low cost of ownership," Yunus concluded.

Enterprises can leverage AppXML by combining Radware's application
delivery solutions which optimises performance and delivers high-level
security. Collectively using AppXML with Radware's AppDirector, an
industry-leading application delivery controller and Radware's AppXcel,
provides a comprehensive set of web services security, acceleration and
optimisation to ensure fast, reliable and secure delivery of
mission-critical web-enabled services and ensures secure and continuous
online business activity.

Sudden growth causes Internet domain registry to temporarily close
> Registered trademark holders still able to obtain paid .TK
registrations for the next couple of weeks

London, 2nd November 2007 - Dot TK, with its 1.7 million active domain
names, is now one of the 10 largest domain registries in the world. The
Internet domain of the small group of Tokelau Islands in the South
Pacific, has grown bigger than country code extensions such as .it
(Italy) and .fr (France). Due to the enormous growth in the last couple
of weeks, Dot TK has decided, together with the government of Tokelau,
to temporarily stop the registry for paid domains. This period is called
the 'Sunrise Period' and runs until 3rd December 9.59am GMT.

During this period, corporations can register Dot TK domain names that
correspond with their trademarks which allows protection from misuse of
registered trademarks, cyber squatting and to provide time for the
resolution of disputes over trademarks. Legitimate proof of trademark
ownership is necessary in order to complete these registrations.

The registration of free .TK domain names will remain possible in the
Sunrise Period. However, these free registrations provide no license
rights to the registrant, only the user's rights. Dot TK can withdraw
the user's rights immediately when there is a conflict with a trademark
domain registrant.

"After our visit to Western Europe in September, we have seen an
enormous increase in new registrations," said Tino Vitale, general
manager of Tokelau's communications company Teletok. "But with our small
community of just over 1,000 people we don't want any problems with
corporations wanting to protect their trademarks. And that's the reason
why we have launched this Sunrise Period."

"Every trademark domain name registration will be verified extensively,"
said Joost Zuurbier, CEO of Dot TK. "We have a semi-automated due
diligence process that not only checks the information of the
registrant, but also checks if the trademarks do belong to his or her
company. With this system we can verify the trademark registrations of
the 28 major trademark authorities. Only when we can verify that the
trademark belongs to the registrant, will we approve the registration."

OPNET Technologies, Inc. Acquires the Assets of Network Physics, Inc.
OPNET Technologies, Inc. Acquires the Assets of Network Physics, Inc.

-Acquisition Enhances OPNET's Product Portfolio for End-to-end Application Performance Management-

Slough, UK - October 24th , 2007 - OPNET Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: OPNT), a leading provider of solutions for managing networks and applications, announced that it has completed the acquisition of substantially all of the assets of Network Physics, Inc. a privately held software company headquartered in Mountain View, California. The acquisition contributes key components to OPNET's product portfolio for application performance management.

In September, 2007, OPNET announced that it was developing ACE Live, a solution for end-user experience monitoring.  With the NetSensory product line of Network Physics, OPNET is in a position to immediately deliver this capability to its customers.  NetSensory enables enterprises to monitor end-to-end application performance in real-time, detect anomalies, and increase IT productivity.  It has been proven in very large and complex environments, and its rapid installation and configuration also makes it ideal for mid-size enterprises.

Alain Cohen, OPNET President & CTO, stated, "Managing end-to-end performance for business-critical applications is increasingly important and challenging for IT organizations. Proactively detecting response time problems leads to faster diagnosis and resolution, thereby minimizing business impact. The combination of Network Physics' real-time monitoring and OPNET's in-depth root-cause analytics places OPNET in a unique position in the industry.  Through the integration of these best-in-class solutions, OPNET is poised to offer an end-to-end solution that spans monitoring, measurement, and detection of violations, and then bridges seamlessly into uncovering the root-cause of application performance problems."

Marc Cohen, OPNET Chairman and CEO, added "We are also excited about combining our customer bases by providing them with the opportunity to benefit from the respective technologies of OPNET and Network Physics.  Network Physics enjoyed great success in the industry and its solutions are being used today in hundreds of enterprises around the world.  Similarly, OPNET's solutions are deployed by the thousands and lead the industry in application performance analytics."

"OPNET's acquisition of Network Physics is a master stroke," said Dennis Drogseth, Vice President, Enterprise Management Associates.   "It provides OPNET with one of the technically most powerful engines for monitoring application traffic across the network with a high level of application awareness, and interrelated insights into traffic volumes, routed paths, and application performance and response.  Network Physics also complements ACE and Panorama as well as other OPNET capabilities surprisingly well.  The benefits to OPNET customers should be quick and sure in the near term, with the longer term potential to combine the analytic and data resources of both systems more completely."

Under the terms of the asset purchase agreement, OPNET paid $10 million in cash to close the transaction.

Radware Delivers Inflight 3.0 With Key Innovative Features to Facilitate and Speed Deployment of Business-Smart Networks
Real-Time Business Event Delivery Platform Provides Users with Template
Solutions Built on New Inflight Template Language, Advanced
Administrative User Interface Capabilities and Stateful Business Support

Bracknell, UK; October 23, 2007 - Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR), the leading
provider of integrated application delivery solutions for Business-Smart
Networking, today announced a new advanced version of Inflight, Inflight
3.0, which provides users with the ability to deploy their business
event delivery platform across the enterprise with the utmost ease, in
real-time and with zero impact to applications or users.

As the industry's only pervasive network-based event platform that
delivers real-time business events to applications across the
enterprise, Inflight 3.0 boasts new innovative features which will
facilitate and speed deployment for customers in response to the
ever-changing business environment. Inflight 3.0 has incorporated a
multitude of features which focus on three critical areas for deploying
solutions more efficiently: Solution Templates, Administrative User
Interface Capabilities and Business Event Support. Together they provide
enterprise customers with the platform they need to transform their IT
operations into a real-time, event driven enterprise.

1. Template Solutions
The templates are an out-of-the-box and easy-to-deploy solution designed
to give customers a jump-start on the complex process of authoring data
feeds to business systems such as enterprise fraud or compliance. Built
on Radware's innovative Inflight Template Language (ITL), the templates
also offer customers the flexibility to adapt them to their unique or
specific business needs with a simple, tree-based operation. Radware
will initially offer a library of more than a dozen pre-built templates
for solutions including Performance Monitoring, Customer Experience
Management, Service Level Agreement (SLA) Monitoring, Click-Stream
Analysis, and more. It will partner with leading system vendors to
continue the build-out of a core library. Additional plans include the
launch of an online portal to provide end-user, partner, and developer
community access to the open-standard templates.

2. Administrative User Interface Capabilities
Inflight 3.0 has streamlined the administrative user interface for
easier configuration. Enhancements include animated charts for viewing
operational statistics, improved ease-of-use in defining data extraction
and formatting and a web service-based approach which provides the
possibility to write one's own administrative tools. Additional
capabilities include enhanced message output formatting, flexible
content parsing and template-based execution. The User Interface greatly
enhances the breadth of use of Inflight and produces more efficiency in
making changes.

3. Stateful Business Support
Inflight 3.0 can deliver even more value as it captures full
transactional details including user ID and requests - across and
between sessions. Additionally, it allows for the correlation across
disjointed transactions and sessions. Creating a continuous view of
usage and providing contextual analysis of transactions enables
companies to better understand user interaction.

Paul Bilden, General Manager for Radware's Inflight Group explained
that, "We are fulfilling a need expressed by partners for a real-time
event delivery platform for online applications, which are easily
deployable and can effortlessly handle large transaction volumes that
are critical to businesses. Already implemented by our renowned global
customers in highly secure, fault-tolerant, evolving environments,
Inflight 3.0, is a proven solution to issues faced by ever changing
business needs."

"Additionally, Inflight plays a valuable role in Radware's
Business-Smart Network strategy as it delivers the business-event
intelligence embedded in the network traffic enabling the network to
optimise business decisions and processes in real-time," Bilden added.

"Our Cognos Now! family of operational business intelligence solutions
provide customers with real-time information to help them more
proactively track, monitor and respond to continuously up-to-date
operational metrics, with minimal IT intervention. By filtering and
feeding critical events information into Cognos Now!, Radware's Inflight
solution will help extend the value of our real-time operational BI
offering to customers," said Jennifer Francis, Vice President of Market
Development at Cognos.

Inflight 3.0 is the ideal solution for users who are looking to reap the
benefits from using a real-time business event delivery platform which
is easy to deploy across the enterprise with zero impact to applications
or users. Radware has responded to the needs of an ever changing
business environment by developing a platform which incorporates new
innovative key features to further ensure more effective results.

News: Four new web 2.0 applications helping the smallest economy in the world
> Dot TK Introduces Web 2.0 Applications for Free Domain Names

Renaming of long web URLs with a simple one-click registration process,
new advertising model Buy-an-Eye, Auction Domain for effective online
auctions and free .TK API

London, 18 September 2007 - Dot TK, the company that offers free .TK
domain names, has today released four new Web 2.0 applications. Tokelau,
the smallest economy in the world who owns the .TK extension, sent its
Minister of Telecommunication, the mayor of one of the Tokelau Islands
and the general manager of Teletok to attend the launch today.

With more and more publishing, network and auction sites appearing on
the Internet, the number of visitors to social networks, weblogs and
auction communications is growing enormously. This has increased the
number of very long and complicated web addresses for users. Dot TK
allows everyone to communicate with short and easy-to-remember domain
names, with added value services on top.

With the new Web 2.0 technology, the renaming of existing web addresses
will become more prevalent, according to Joost Zuurbier, CEO of Dot TK:
"Entering a .tk address on the Dot TK website and clicking on the button
is enough to register a new .TK domain name.

"We currently have more than 1.6 million active .TK domain names under
management and that number is growing, with over 10,000 new additions
each day. Individuals are using Dot TK to rename long and complicated
web addresses into easy to remember .TK variants. They are using this to
promote their profile sites or weblogs. Users can choose either free
domains with advertisements on top of their website or a paid variant
without any ads."

For advertisers, Dot TK has introduced Buy-an-Eye. This service scans
the contents of all .TK pages and generates tags and keywords, in such a
way that advertisers can place targeted advertisement. The total amount
of page views currently exceeds 6 million unique visitors every day. The
ad-model is based on the cost-per-view. "We not only sell ads to
advertisers, we also allow them to target their audience with keywords
and tags", adds Zuurbier.

Furthermore, there is a new service called Auction Domain that allows
auction websites to be more effective. The Auctiondomain service scans
the auction-site of the registrant, for example on eBay, and suggests a
corresponding .TK name with that, which is more effective to communicate
with others.

Last, but not least, Dot TK provides a free .TK API service to
developers and programmers that want to incorporate the .TK registration
service within their own applications. The API can be used at no charge
and more information can be found on www.dottkapi.tk

But it is not only the customers of Dot TK that profit from activities.
The group of islands of Tokelau, who own the .TK extension also benefit.
The government of Tokelau participates in the company and the royalty
fees already add double digits to the Gross National Product of the
country. The Tokelau group of Islands also now have a broadband Internet
connection thanks to Dot TK. However, Tokelau still has a lot of
problems, such as climate change, people leaving the country and a
difficult period of independence. Part of the mission of Dot TK is to
help the country with these issues.

About Dot TK
Dot TK is a joint venture of the Government of Tokelau, its
communication company Teletok and Taloha, Inc., a privately held
company. More information about Dot TK can be found at http://www.dot.tk

BTCC team VX Racing has winning communications solution to be on track for a great season
Newbury, UK, 12th June 2007: With the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season underway, winning team VX Racing will be able to attribute a large part of this success to a communications system from leading converged business voice and data company, Azzurri Communications. The company has provided a number of solutions as part of its sponsorship of the team, which has been ten years to date.

Azzurri has always kept the team one step ahead with innovative technology, and will now be providing VX Racing with Azzurri Network Voice, a state-of-the art hosted IP telephony solution that will ensure that the team is always connected and has access to vital information wherever they are. Each team member, regardless of their location needs to be contactable and have collaborative access to information such as car telemetry and driver briefings, whether that is at the circuit, the pits, the transporters or back at the base.

With Azzurri's Network Voice solution, a mobile satellite broadband system goes with the team to all the race venues and is deployed in the paddock. All that is then required for team members to get the full benefits of an IP telephony solution is a SIP based handset or softphone and internet connection. The team can bring into play intelligent numbering, resulting in each person having just one number for their mobile and IP phone, conferencing, team numbers and on-demand call recording.

Richard Walker, IT manager, VX Racing said: "With each race there are a number of variables that affect our communications needs. We are always working against very tight and changeable deadlines, so set up time at the racetrack needs to be kept to a minimum, which the Azzurri solution enables. It is as simple as plugging in a handset or laptop into an internet enabled router and off you go."

Walker continues: "I already have lots of ideas of how this will work for us and I expect the Azzurri solutions to make a real difference to us during the season. As you can imagine, every second counts when you're up against it - it can mean the difference between winning a race or a car not being ready on time."

Eric Thickett, professional services director, Azzurri Communications comments: "The team is testing and racing at venues all over the world and often have limited facilities. The team had experienced dropped calls, late text messages and on occasions, had simply not been able to get hold of team members when time was of the essence. Therefore, we decided to provide the team with an Azzurri hosted communications system that can be accessed from anywhere in the world, making communications quick, reliable and efficient."

Through the Azzurri Network Voice solution, VX Racing will enjoy all the usual reduced call cost benefits of IP Telephony but without the high capital investment, management hassle and space requirements. Without the need to maintain and support its own telephony and data systems, VX Racing can save up to 50% on annual costs enabling the team to concentrate on what is important - winning races. The solution operates on a secure, service provider class platform, providing full redundancy and 24/7/365 network management.

With four race meetings having already taken place, the team has positioned itself as one of the main contenders for the 2007 titles. 5 wins and a further five podium finishes have put VX Racing in the lead of the Manufacturer and Team Championships, while drivers Fabrizio Giovanardi and Tom Chilton are currently second and fourth respectively in the driver standings.

UK's largest union UNISON connects with Azzurri Communications

Newbury, UK, 25th May 2007:  Leading converged business voice and data company Azzurri Communications today announced a contract with the UK’s largest trade union, UNISON. As part of UNISON’s infrastructure development, a new, improved wide area network (WAN) will see Azzurri connecting UNISON’s 33 offices nationwide, giving improved access to the organisation’s network. The introduction of an IP telephony system will also give UNISON one single telephony platform, realising cost savings and increasing network resilience.

As a trusted partner, Azzurri will manage the migration to the new infrastructure as well as the solution moving forward. Azzurri will work with UNISON to design a bespoke WAN suited to its specific needs, managing the design, project management and implementation.

Azzurri will replace the existing office telephone systems with an Avaya Communications Manager telephony platform, improving the reliability, resilience and availability of UNISON’s phone system. UNISON’s regional offices will also benefit from the enhanced administration and management tools the new solution will provide.

“We wanted one supplier who could deal with all aspects of the implementation, including design, migration and ongoing support. After a competitive exercise, Azzurri stood out as the partner of choice to deliver the appropriate solution, we were impressed by their approach and considered that they offered the expertise and value for money we were looking for,” comments Laurence Arterton, infrastructure and telecoms manager, UNISON.

“With the help of Avaya technology and the expertise of Azzurri, an Avaya Platinum Business Partner, UNISON is set to transform the way it will deliver its services, improving work processes and productivity for its staff while also achieving significant cost savings” said Darren Pattie, Director Channel, UK, Avaya.

Members are people working in the public services, for private contractors providing public services and in the essential utilities. They include frontline staff and managers working full or part time in local authorities, the NHS, the police service, colleges and schools, the electricity, gas and water industries, transport and the voluntary sector. Last year UNISON recruited 155,000 new members - 425 per day.

Azzurri set to revolutionise network management and budget control with launch of Azzurri One
Audit of 1,200 corporate companies shows they could be making a combined 20% saving on their telecoms bills

Newbury, UK, 2nd May 2007 - Converged business voice and data company Azzurri Communications, today announced the launch of Azzurri One, a new service which is set to revolutionise the way companies handle their data, voice and mobile requirements. Azzurri One will enable companies to make significant cost savings through more efficient budget control and cost management.

Azzurri One is a fully managed service that combines an organisation's whole communications estate on to one managed platform with one fixed monthly bill.

Martin St Quinton, CEO, Azzurri Communications comments: "We appreciate what a challenge it is for organisations to manage all of their communications requirements effectively. With many suppliers and their subsequent bills to manage, budget control becomes almost impossible."

The idea for Azzurri One developed after years of carrying out audits at UK companies. Azzurri has audited 1,200 corporate UK customers with a combined telecoms spend of £300m per year, identifying £60m worth of achievable savings. Azzurri One audits the whole communications infrastructure, successfully identifying where savings can be made and then deploying all of a company's needs on to one platform, totally removing the need for numerous suppliers, complex billing and almost impossible management.

New customers to Azzurri One initially undergo a simple audit of their entire communications infrastructure. Azzurri then provides a full report on where cost savings can be made, before deploying the company's communications needs through one single supplier and one fixed cost bill.

Other benefits offered by Azzurri One include:

* Simplified management and transparency - Customers receive a wealth of infrastructure information in a single management report
* One service level agreement (SLA)
* Financial certainty due to single supplier, fixed cost billing
* One escalation procedure with one centralised service
* Removal of hidden waste, such as paying for data lines when only a fraction of the bandwidth in use is identified

As Martin St Quinton concludes "Azzurri One allows businesses to concentrate on what really matters - people, systems and applications."

Ask4 finds secure and environmentally friendly cabling network down in the sewers

H20 Networks' public sector sewer success spills over into the private sector

St Asaph, UK, 03rd April 2007: When Internet Service Provider (ISP), Ask 4, was looking for a secure, resilient and environmentally friendly way to implement a new communications cabling infrastructure in order to cope with its customers' ever increasing demands, it chose to work with H2O Networks and utilise the local sewer network.

H2O Networks' revolutionary Focus (Fibre Optical Cable Underground Sewer) System allows organisations to use the UK's sewer system to set up their own secure IT and telecom networks with unlimited bandwidth.

Jonathan Hudson, managing director, Ask 4 comments: "With increasing business and consumer demand for up to the minute methods of communication and with increased understanding of convergence and its benefits, organisations are increasingly demanding greater bandwidth. We knew that fibre optic cabling would provide this bandwidth, but wanted a cost-effective way of doing this."

The cost advantages of H2O's network means that not only is it cheaper to install, but it offers a fixed term cost rather than bandwidth tariffs. The bandwidth is hugely scalable and so will cope with the evolution of technology and the capacity this will eat up for the foreseeable future. The deployment process is a least 80 per cent faster than traditional methods, resulting in operational networks within weeks rather than months. Every city and town has ready-made ducts that can be used without causing disruption.

An additional advantage is that the cables lie at depths of up to 5m below the ground, compared with 450mm for conventional cables, making it far more secure, particularly in disaster recovery situations.

Elfed Thomas, managing director, H2O Networks comments: "Our Focus system offers both public and private sector organisations a cost-effective alternative to the traditional method of deploying fibre cable. It offers a fixed term cost rather than bandwidth tariffs, so that when extra capacity is needed, it's there, and the business doesn't incur further connection charges."

The H2O Networks system eliminates the additional connection and fibre charges cable and telecom companies make when extra bandwidth capacity is taken on. Our cable has no restriction on bandwidth with the customer firmly in control and the ability to upgrade at any time."

H2O's business proposition is attracting much praise and interest from the UK's water boards including Yorkshire Water, which is just one of the water boards signed up to the scheme.

Stockley Academy given power to teach by Redstone

Redstone Converged Services installs state-of-the-art technology into ground-breaking school

Date - 7th March 2007 - Students of Stockley Academy, based in the London Borough of Hillingdon, are reaping the benefits of state-of-the-art technology installed by Redstone Converged Solutions, a leading provider of converged IP solutions. As a result of the new ICT infrastructure, truancy has decreased, exam results have improved, and learning has been made more enjoyable for the students.

Stockley Academy, formerly Evelyns Community School, has seen some radical changes in the last couple of years. The school hit an all time low in 2001 when it was forced into special measures, and those worst affected were the students. An injection of cash from the DfES saw the start of a complete turnaround in the school’s fortunes.

As part of the £26 million project to develop a purpose built ‘intelligent school’, Redstone Converged Solutions has installed and implemented the Academy’s entire ICT infrastructure. Delivered over five phases, the implementation included behind the scenes technology as well as interactive whiteboards, the installation of a cashless vending system, and a photo ID capture system for security purposes and to aid the prevention of truancy.

Fred Groom, principal, Stockley Academy, said: “Stockley Academy has become the heart of this community. We know how lucky we are to have such state-of-the-art facilities to make the teaching and learning process so interactive.”

Paul Kennedy, managing director, Redstone Converged Solutions, said: “Redstone has proven expertise in this area, and it is very satisfying to know that technology has helped this Academy to improve the educational experience of its students. Truancy has decreased, exam results have improved, and learning has been made more interactive and fulfilling.”

Redstone has a strong track record in the education sector, having a number of high profile customers in this area, including: West Sussex LEA, West Berkshire LEA and Southampton City Council.

Bournemouth Borough Council links up with H2O Networks to use Council Tax payers money

Council uses UK sewer network for new cabling infrastructure

North Wales, UK, 1st March 2007: Digging up roads for laying pipe and cable, impacts on the environment and happens more than four million times a year at a cost of £1 billion. With this in mind, when Bournemouth Borough Council was looking to implement a new communications cabling infrastructure, the obvious choice was H2O Networks. Utilising the UK’s sewer network, H2O Network’s FOCUS (Fibre Optical Cable Underground Sewer) System solution was implemented in just over one week and has meant that Council Tax payers money is spent on improving local facilities rather than being used for digging up the roads.

Bob Rhodes, IT manager, Bournemouth Borough Council comments: “In partnership with H2O Networks we are making a tremendous cost saving, meaning that we can put Council Tax payers money to better use. Using the sewer network is also a more environmentally friendly way to lay the fibre optic cable, and it makes sense to utilise the existing sewer network that’s right under our noses.”

“Our network was operational in just over a week with no need for us to undergo the complex negotiations that come with getting the permission to dig up roads and pavements.”

The revolutionary new development by H2O Networks allows organisations such as the Council to use the sewer network to set up their own secure IT and telecom network. The deployment process is a least 80 per cent faster than traditional methods, resulting in operational networks within weeks rather than months. Every city and town has ready-made ducts that can be used without causing disruption. H2O’s approach not only allows for quick installation it also provides unlimited bandwidth.

H2O’s business proposition is attracting much praise and interest from the UK’s water boards including Wessex Water Enterprises, which is just one of the water boards signed up to the scheme.

Mike Peacey, commercial manager, Wessex Water Enterprises comments: “We’ve started the system in Bournemouth which is a town with a lot of industry and architectural heritage, so it’s great that we are using our assets to the benefit of local industry and the environment.”

Commenting on the business benefits of the system, Elfed Thomas, managing director, H2O Networks comments: “Our FOCUS system gives organisations a cost-effective alternative to the traditional method of deploying fibre cable. It offers a fixed term cost rather than bandwidth tariffs, so that when extra capacity is needed, it’s there, and the business doesn’t incur further charges.”
